Description
A cover redesign of Philippa Gregory's 'The Red Queen'. Lady Margaret Beaufort played a very important role in the War of the Roses and was the woman 'responsible' for the start of the Tudor Dynasty. Henry VIII, menace to women across 'his' realm, was her grandson. Naturally, history hasn't been very kind to her- often portraying her as somewhat of a bitch.
I preferred the novel's approach to giving her a drive, passion, and a keen mind. I chose to illustrate a particular moment in the novel- the moments that the heir to the Lancaster name would steal away with her own son to bond with him, before being separated from her for months at a time.
